South African captain Aiden Markram appreciated the success of the Indian Premier League (IPL) before starting his stint in the second edition of the SA 20 Cricket League.

“A great start to what I believe will be a huge tournament moving forward. Excitement levels are really high… You appreciate IPL because of how successful it has been for so many years… Overseas players have a lot of responsibility in whichever league it is,” Markram said in a press conference.

Markram also leads the Sunrisers Hyderabad side in IPL. He has played 33 matches and scored 775 runs at an average of 32.29 and a strike rate of 131.36.
SA20 second edition
The second edition of South Africa’s premier franchise T20 tournament SA20 will begin on January 10. The final is scheduled to be played on February 10. This year’s SA20 will feature six teams.
