Ahmedabad Weather LIVE: And the bad news hits! With fans travelling to Ahmedabad for the mega India vs Pakistan World Cup clash on Oct 14, they may end up disappointed as rain might play spoilsport during the match. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light showers in Ahmedabad and north Gujarat during Navratri and IND vs PAK clash.
“While the weather is expected to remain dry during the next five days in Gujarat, light showers may occur at isolated places in Ahmedabad district on October 14,” the IMD said.
As per IMD, on both Oct 14 and Oct 15, there will be light rain with cloudy sky greeting fans. The match at the Narendra Modi Stadium was advanced by a day to avoid clash with the beginning of the nine-day-long Navratri festival begins on October 15.
Light rain during India vs Pakistan
According to the latest weather update shared by the IMD, light rains may occur at “isolated places” in north Gujarat districts, and Ahmedabad on October 14 and 15.
“The atmosphere will remain cloudy. The next day, light rains may occur in Ahmedabad and other northern districts, such as Banaskantha, Sabarkantha and Arvalli,” said Manorama Mohanty, director of the Meteorological Centre in Ahmedabad.
She added that light rains are also expected in Banaskantha and Sabarkantha districts on October 16, adding that the possibility of light rains at a few places in Ahmedabad cannot be ruled out for that day as well.
Rain played spoilsport in India vs Pakistan Asia Cup. The group match was washed out with no reserve day in place in Pallekele. Rain also interrupted IND vs PAK Super 4 clash in Asia Cup. And with Round 3 of the mega clash, rain is set to play spoilsport once again.
It must be noted that there is no reserve day in place for World Cup league stage games. Reserve Day only comes into place from the semifinals.
