After World Cup ticket fiasco, IND vs ENG Hyderabad Test tickets only available online

Hyderabad Cricket Association will only sell tickets online for IND vs ENG 1st Test with free tickets for jawans & students on Jan 26.

Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and ticket fiasco have been synonymous. Not so long ago, even World Cup tickets in Hyderabad were available on the black market. To remedy that, the HCA has stopped offline ticket sales for the IND vs ENG 1st Test at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Instead, fans can only purchase tickets online. The India vs England Hyderabad Test begins on Jan 25.

Fans have to exchange the online tickets with physical copies on Sunday from Hyderabad Gymkhana.

This is a prestigious match. I feel there is a change in this match. All arrangements are ready, the security, housekeeping, and food preparations are done. Apex council members and 217 club members are supporting me. All tickets will be sold online through Paytm and not offline. Whoever has an online ticket, they have to collect printed tickets from Gymkhana on 21st,” Jagan Mohan Rao, HCA President told RTV.

IND vs ENG: Free tickets for soldiers

To celebrate Republic Day, Jan 26, HCA has announced free tickets for all Indian soldiers. HCA has also given out free passes and tickets to students for the IND vs ENG 1st Test.

“Since January 26 is a special occasion, it is a gift from my side to invite soldiers for the game. Soldiers along with their families are welcome. We have invited a minimum of 2000-3000 members. We have given free passes. The target is especially govt schools,” Jagan Mohan said.

Furthermore, with tickets starting at only Rs 200, HCA believes fans will come in numbers despite decreasing crowds for Test matches in India.

“We are selling tickets starting from Rs 200. The highlight is that the price of the ticket for 5 days will amount to only Rs 600 (3 days fare). Two days free,” he added.

India Cricket Team-led by Rohit Sharma have reached Hyderabad today to begin a four-day practice camp before IND vs ENG 1st Test.
