Sanju Samson returns to Kerala squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy after World Cup snub

It is back to the grind for Sanju Samson. After back-to-back snubs in the Asia Cup and the World Cup squad for the Indian Cricket Team, Sanju Samson will play at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Kerala. The Rajasthan Royals skipper is back in Kerala and has joined the Kerala camp as he begins his preparation for the SWAT.

It is extremely crucial for Sanju Samson to continue his preparations for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The T20 domestic tournament begins on 16th October and Samson and Co has just around 2 weeks to prepare for the competition.

Sanju Samson’s stakes in the Indian Cricket Team have been severely lowered. The dependable wicketkeeper and able middle-order batter have no been the prime favorites for Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid. It is safe to say that Samson in the India tour of West Indies has not been exceptional enough to warrant a place in the Indian squad.

He was selected in the 17-member India squad for the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. But Sanju Samson was only a traveling reserve for the Men in Blue. He subsequently returned to India when KL Rahul became fit at the NCA and joined the squad. Later on, Washington Sundar was also called to Sri Lanka to replace the injured Axar Patel.
