The Pakistan team is currently on the verge of getting out of Cricket World Cup. The Babar Azam-led side will be up against New Zealand in a do-or-die match in Bengaluru on Saturday. A loss here will end Pakistan’s disappointing campaign in the tournament. However, amidst all the rising tension, Babar Azam has reportedly been involved in shopping for his wedding.
According to a report in One Cricket, the Pakistan skipper has bought a designer sherwani from Sabyasachi which is worth 7 Lakh. Babar is reportedly set to tie the knot at the end of this year and it seems the 28-year-old is utilising the break between the games by shopping in India.
For those who are unfamiliar, Sabyasachi is one of India’s biggest designer and has designed wedding dresses for some of the biggest Bollywood and cricket stars, including Virat Kohli.
“Babar Azam’s wedding is scheduled to take place at the end of this year, making the timing of his extravagant purchase all the more unexpected,” a report in One Cricket website said.
The emerging report is set to bring more criticism for the Pakistan skipper who is already under fire for team’s woeful performance in the World Cup.
The 28-year-old has also failed to lead the side from the front. Babar has scored only 216 runs in 7 innings at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 77.
Pakistan will face New Zealand on Saturday, November 4 at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
