Bangladesh young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib landed himself in a controversy just days after impressive his international debut. To note, one of Shakib’s misogynistic social media post that criticized working women came to light recently after which he was lambasted by the fans for his thinking. Now, Tanzim has apologized for his remarks stating that he never wanted to hurt anyone’s feelings.
Sakib posts will be monitored from now onwards: BCB
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided not take any actions on Sakib for now. However, BCB stated that his future posts will be monitored. “From the cricket board and cricket operations, we have had discussions with Tanzim Sakib. We talked to him. He has also been contacted by the media committee. We informed him about the posts that came on Facebook… his statement is that he didn’t make such posts to hurt anyone,” BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus.
“Whatever he posted, it wasn’t meant for anyone in particular. He felt sorry if anyone got hurt due to his posts,” Yunus was quoted as saying, BDcrictime reported.

“A topic comes about women. He took the responsibility for all the posts he made. He said he’s not a misogynist. He dispelled the claim fully. He said his mother is a woman also, he can never be a misogynist. This is his statement. We asked him to be careful. If he posts anything like this in the future, it will be monitored by the board,” he added.
Tanzim made his debut for Bangladesh while playing against India in the recently concluded Asia Cup. The pacer scalped the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma. Thereafter, he defended 12 runs in the final over and helped his to complete a six-run win in the dead rubber. Sakib will be next seen in action during the ODI series against New Zealand.
