Chennai Super Kings side have started their expansion outside India. The Indian Premier League (IPL) side is all set to establish their new cricket Academy in Sydney. This will be CSK’s third academy to be set up outside India. Previously, CSK has gone through the development of academies in USA and UK. And now Sydney in Australia becomes the new addition to the Super Kings family.
CSK open New Academy in Australia
Chennai Super Kings has already established its academies in Dallas and Reading previously. And now Sydney is a new addition to the list. CSK has good ties with Australia and it was only a matter of time before the academy was established. Aussie greats like Matthew Hayden and Shane Watson has previously donned the esteemed jersey for the Yellow Army.
The academy is established at Olympic Park in Sydney. It will feature a state-of-the-art academy with both indoor and outdoor facilities. CSK also claimed that young boys and girls can begin their cricket coaching in September of 2024.
“We are happy to extend our special journey with Australia, which began with the inception of IPL in 2008,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said.
“Australia is a champion country with a strong sporting culture and rich cricketing legacy. The Super Kings Academy will tap into and help groom cricketers, both boys and girls, adding to the already strong system in the country,” Kasi concluded.
