KL Rahul – From LSG to DC
Speaking at Superstars on JioHotstar, he said, “This will be a new experience for me — joining a new franchise, possibly my fourth or fifth team in the IPL. I feel both excited and a little nervous. Every time you step into a new team environment, a lot of thoughts cross your mind — how the players will be, how the owners run the team, how the fans will respond — all of that. So, it’s a mix of emotions.”
Here in DC, KL Rahul will rub shoulders with some of the seasoned Indian players like Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and also some foreign stars like Mitchell Starc and Faf Du Plessis. Overall, the team looks solid, one that will do the job. “Looking at the squad and how the management has built the team, it looks like a well-balanced side with most areas covered.
Right Blend of Youth and Experience in Delhi Capitals?
“There’s a great combination of experienced players and young talent, and I’m excited to play alongside some incredibly skilled youngsters and learn from them as well. With players like Mitchell Starc, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, many of whom I have played with before, we have a solid squad. I can’t wait for the IPL to begin.”
Meanwhile, it is important to note that Rahul, who was expected to be the captain of the side, has turned down the offer. Axar Patel might be the likely candidate for the job, who was recently made the vice-captain of the T20I side. “Yes, Axar Patel is likely to be named as Delhi Capitals skipper for IPL 2025. The franchise had asked for KL Rahul to be the team’s captain, but he very much wishes to contribute for the side as a player in the upcoming tournament,” sources told IANS on Tuesday.
