After Shubman Gill, another star Indian down with dengue, set to miss IND vs PAK

India will face Pakistan on Satuday, October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

After Indian cricketer Shubman Gill, ace commentator Harsha Bhogle has been diagnosed with dengue and will miss the blockbuster IND vs PAK World Cup clash on Saturday, October 14. Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter and shared the news about him being down with dengue and said that he is “disappointed” but hopeful of coming back for IND vs BAN on October 19.

“I am disappointed at having to miss out on #IndiavsPak on the 14th. But I have dengue and the resultant weakness, and lowered immunity, will make it impossible. I am hoping to be back in time for the game on the 19th. My colleagues, and the broadcast crew, have been very helpful (and took on the extra workload during the second half of #IndiaVsAus ) and I look forward to saying thank you to them in person,” Harsha Bhogle tweeted.

Earlier, Team India received a jolt when opening batter Shubman Gill was diagnosed with dengue. Though Shubman has landed in Ahmedabad, he is doubtful for the India vs Pakistan contest on Saturday at Narendra Modi Stadium.

“He’s recovering well. Yes, he was hospitalised, but it was more though as a precaution. He’s back in the hotel in Chennai and is recovering well. So, he’s being monitored by the medical team. We are hoping that he will recover soon and would be looking good,” India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour had said before the Afghanistan game.

Both India and Pakistan have started their World Cup campaign with wins. Both teams have played two matches so far and have yet to lose a game.

India and Pakistan have faced each other 7 times in ODI World Cups. Out of these 7 games, India have won 7, while Pakistan are still searching for their first win against India in this tournament.
