What a couple of days for the Khan family! After older brother Sarfaraz Khan received his maiden Test call-up yesterday, younger brother Musheer Khan has notched up his third fifty or more runs in the ongoing U19 World Cup 2024.
Playing in just his fourth match of the tournament, Musheer has scored two fifties and one hundred so far and is the leading run-scorer of the U19 World Cup 2024.
Musheer, much like his brother Sarfaraz Khan, is an aggressive right-handed batter. He had scored a hundred against Ireland and followed it up with a fifty against the USA to ensure that India U19 remained on top of their group.
Now, in their Super Six encounter against New Zealand, he has scored yet another fifty. If Musheer manages to take his side to a big score in the first inning, India will all but qualify for the next stage of the U19 World Cup 2024, the semifinals.
India U19 is currently played at the top of Group 1 of the Super Six, ahead of Pakistan’s one net run rate. If they manage to defeat New Zealand, they’ll face underdogs Nepal in their next match and will have a fair chance to make the semifinals easily.
