After Sanjiv Goenka – KL Rahul episode, Mohammed Shami blasts LSG team owner

The KL Rahul - Sanjiv Goenka episode has raised the eyebrows of many across India, including India pacer Mohammed Shami.

On Wednesday, not only KL Rahul‘s LSG succumbed to a 10-wicket loss against SRH, but the skipper also had to face the outburst of franchise owner after the match, that too in front of the cameras. Ever since the event transpired, the visuals of Sanjiv Goenka losing his cool on Rahul, have made the headlines that cease to die.

Even though the clarification from the franchise has already come, that all is well between the owners and Rahul, but there are speculations that the latter will either be sacked, not retained, or will just leave the franchise before the next season. Rahul’s India teammate Mohammed Shami has come in support of the former.

Mohammed Shami Blasts Sanjiv Goenka

In an interaction with Cricbuzz, Shami said, “Players have respect, and you are a respectful person, too, as you are an owner. Many people are watching you and learning from you. If these things happen in front of cameras… ye sharam ki baat hai. It’s a matter of shame.”

“If you have to do that, there are many different ways. You could’ve done the same thing in the dressing room or the hotel. It wasn’t necessary to do it on the field,” he added.

“He’s the captain too, not a normal player. It’s a team game; if the plan isn’t successful, it isn’t a big thing. Anything is possible in the game. I understand there can be good or bad days, but every player has respect, and there’s a way to talk. This sends a very wrong message,” Shami emphasized.
