After KKR vs Eden Gardens curator feud, Kolkata to offer “drier” pitch for SRH clash on April 3

After KKR vs Eden Gardens curator feud, Kolkata to offer “drier” pitch for SRH clash on April 3

IPL 2025: Many reports had suggested that Eden Gardens curator Sujan Mukherjee did not listen to KKR's demand of spin-friendly track.

Things seem to have gone out of proportion, as far as the alleged feud between KKR and the Eden Gardens pitch curator, Sujan Mukherjee is concerned. First reports surfaced that KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane wanted more spin-friendly pitches and was denied by the curator; then former cricketer Shreevats Goswami alleged the same problem during his Bengal playing days too.

Did Eden Gardens Curator Say NO?

Finally on Friday, Mukherjee cleared the air that there was no rift between the two parties, and no such formal request was made to him regarding the spin-friendly tracks. Now, if a fresh report from RevSportz is to be believed, the April 3 match at Eden Gardens, between KKR and SRH, will have a drier pitch, which will aid the slower bowlers.

In the first match between KKR and RCB, Varun Chakravarthy was a bit expensive, where he gave away 43 runs. In fact, he has a poor economy at the venue, of 9.12. So, this could in turn be beneficial for him. In the same report, Eden Gardens curator said, “There’s no fight with the KKR management.”

Drier Pitch for KKR vs SRH Match on April 3

“First up, there’s no fight between me and the KKR management, I have a very good relationship with all of them. I have known Rahane since his early days and he didn’t say anything wrong at the press conference. He said he would like to see a bit more turn on the pitch and as a captain he is entitled to that.”

He further added, that he is open to listen to the KKR team and Ajinkya Rahane. “They are on the road now. Let them return, and if they want to have a word with me, I’m open to listening to their viewpoint.”
