After IPL success, Pat Cummins heads to MLC, set to join San Francisco Unicorns

Pat Cummins has signed with MLC franchise San Francisco Unicorns as a part of their strategic relationship with first-class side Victoria

Australia skipper Pat Cummins is all set to feature in the 2nd edition of the Major League Cricket (MLC) as he signs up for the San Francisco Unicorns. The Australian skipper will fill in the shoes of his former teammate Aaron Finch following the latter’s retirement. Cummins will head into MLC 2024 after a successful stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024, guiding them to the finals of the marquee event.

Cummins joins fellow Aussies Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Spencer Johnson, Steve Smith and Jake Fraser Mcgurk for the second season of the MLC, as per Cricbuzz. It is understood that Mitchell Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, and a host of other Australians from the Australian world cup squad are also expected to make a dash to state side.

When does MLC 2024 begin?

MLC is all set to have a six-day clash with The Hundred as it is scheduled to commence on July 5. The crucial knockout stage of the Major League Cricket will begin from July 24 which will feature four out of the six franchises.

MLC will start on July 5 – a day later than initially planned – and the 21-match group stage will run until July 23. Each team will play seven group fixtures. The four knockout fixtures have been scheduled for July 24 (Eliminator), 25 (Qualifier), 26 (Challenger) and 28 (final).
