After battling a recent injury during the Ranji Trophy, Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is setting his sights on a powerful return in IPL 2024 and T20 World Cup. This return will be driven by the insights gained under head coach Rahul Dravid and the thrill of upcoming major tournaments.
Prasidh Krishna Test debut under Rahul Dravid in South Africa last year came with mixed results. While it wasn’t the stellar start he envisioned, the experience left a lasting mark. “It’s been great,” he shared in an interview with My Khel. “Rahul Dravid is a legend, and his calm demeanor and clear communication make him a fantastic coach.”
Prasidh Krishna comeback in IPL 2024, World Cup
Currently honing his skills at the National Cricket Academy, Krishna is determined to translate lessons learned into impactful performances. The Rajasthan Royals pacer has missed out on first two India vs England Tests and is also unlikely to be part of the last three Test matches. He eagerly awaits the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the T20 World Cup, viewing them as prime opportunities to showcase his comeback. “The IPL and World Cup are exciting challenges for any athlete,” he expressed, “and we’re ready to embrace them wholeheartedly.”
With the World Cup kicking off in June, a fully fit Krishna alongside India’s pace spearheads – Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami – would form a formidable attack. Recognizing his natural pace and bounce, Krishna emphasized the importance of consistency and strategic bowling: “Pace is crucial, and confidence and rhythm enhance it. But sticking to team tactics and bowling consistently is paramount.”
Looking ahead, Krishna’s dedication to learning and improvement, coupled with the guidance of Dravid and the upcoming high-profile tournaments, paints a promising picture for his cricketing journey. His hunger for success is sure to keep him on the fast track to achieving his goals.
