After India cricket team ex-coach, his Ranji cricketer son booked for cheating

Tushar Arothe's successful coaching career with the Indian women's team is now overshadowed by the ongoing investigations.

Rishi Arothe, son of Tushar Arothe – the former coach of the Indian women’s cricket team – has been accused of cheating a businessman of Rs 29.5 lakh, adding another layer to a controversy-filled week for the Arothe family.

This comes just days after a bag containing Rs 1 crore in cash was recovered from Tushar Arothe’s house during a police raid.

Complicated case ft India Cricket Team coach

The latest development involves a complaint filed by a city-based businessman, Gaurav Nadkar, at the Manjalpur police station in Vadodara.

Nadkar alleges that former Ranji cricketer Rishi Arothe, along with three other individuals, conspired to cheat him under the guise of constructing a restaurant in Goa.

The allegations:

According to Nadkar’s complaint, he met Rishi Arothe in 2019. Rishi allegedly convinced Nadkar to invest in a project involving the construction of a restaurant, cafe, bar, and casino.

Nadkar, believing the project’s potential, invested Rs 24.75 lakh. He also claims his friends invested an additional Rs 4.75 lakh on his recommendation.

Broken promises and unfulfilled dreams:

However, Nadkar’s claims paint a picture of broken promises and unfulfilled dreams. As the project allegedly failed to take off, attempts to contact Rishi proved futile.

Tushar Arothe, Rishi’s father, reportedly advised Nadkar to pursue legal action. Finally, after facing threats from an alleged accomplice, Nadkar approached the police.

Legal ramifications:

The Manjalpur police have registered a case against Rishi Arothe and his alleged accomplices under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal breach of trust, cheating, criminal conspiracy, and intentional insult.

A shadow over Cricket legacy:

These recent developments cast a shadow over the cricketing legacy of the Arothe family. Tushar Arothe’s successful coaching career with the Indian women’s team is now overshadowed by the ongoing investigations. The incident also raises questions about the potential misuse of influence and the need for vigilance in the face of such allegations.
