Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has returned to Ranji Trophy to prepare for the upcoming IND vs ENG Test series, starting on January 25.
Iyer has been added to Mumbai squad for its upcoming match against Andhra Pradesh, set to be played from January 12 to 15 in Mumbai.
Mumbai started its campaign with a big win over Bihar in Patna by an innings and 51 runs.
Notably, Iyer had a forgettable outing in IND vs SA Test series. The 29-year-old, who batted at No. 5, could score only 41 runs in 4 innings at an average of a mere 13.67. His highest score was 3.
With Rishabh Pant almost ready to return to cricket action after a car accident, Iyer is likely to be in direct race with KL Rahul for the number 4 spot in Test cricket.
