PCB provides update on ‘sickness’ in Pakistan camp ahead of PAK vs AUS game

Pakistan team is in crisis ahead of Australia clash as Abdullah Shafique, Shaheen Afridi and Usama Mir are all down with fever in Bengaluru.

Pakistan Cricket Team is not having a great time in India. After their humiliating defeat to India in Ahmedabad, a bout of fever has Pakistan camp in Bengaluru ahead of PAK vs AUS Cricket World Cup clash on Friday. Abdullah Shafique, Shaheen Afridi and Usama Mir are all down with fever. PCB now has provided an update.

“Thankfully, there is no viral infection or disease. Those who are in the stage of recovery remain under the team medical panel’s observation,” Geo News quoted a PCB spokesperson.

Pakistan arrived in Bengaluru on Monday after their crushing defeat to India. But before they take on Australia, their preparations have been hampered.

“Some players got fever in the past few days and most of them have fully recovered from it. Those who are in the stage of recovery remain under the team medical panel’s observation,” Pakistan team’s media manager told Cricket Pakistan.

Following the wave of fever in Pakistan camp, the team has conducted tests for dengue and Covid-19 to rule out possibility. Players are also undergoing frequent dengue and Covid-19 screenings in Bengaluru.

Pakistan cancelled their practice sessions to allow players to recover. However, the team will still have a practice session with available players on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
