With the series tied at 1-1, the winner of the third match will claim victory in the T20 leg of the tour. Zimbabwe took the opening game with a four-wicket win, but Afghanistan responded with an emphatic 50-run victory on Friday.
After opting to bat first, the visitors posted a total of 153 runs, with Darwish Rasooli top-scoring with a well-crafted 58 off 42 deliveries. In response, Zimbabwe’s innings folded for 103 runs in 17.4 overs, thanks to a stellar bowling performance by skipper Rashid Khan and medium-pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, both picking up three wickets each.
Following the conclusion of the T20 series, the teams will compete in a three-match ODI series at the same venue, before heading to Bulawayo for a two-Test showdown.
