New Zealand captain Kane Williamson on Saturday was all praise for Afghanistan after being defeated by Rashid Khan and co in Guyana in the T20 World Cup. Williamson, who has always been a true gentleman of the game, was graceful to accept the crushing loss. Williamson promised to move on and work harder to get New Zealand’s T20 World Cup campaign back on track.
We have to regroup quickly: Kane Williamson
“Congratulations to Afghanistan, they simply outplayed us in all facets. To get a total like that on a fiddly surface, they kept wickets in hand and played it beautifully. Not good enough from us. Quick turnaround, we have to regroup quickly and onto the next challenge,” Williamson said at the post-match ceremony.
“The boys were focused and were working hard in preparation for this game, but it was not our best performance. We will chat about it, review and move on quickly. It (the games) comes thick and fast, and we need to be better,” Williamson added.
