Late on Tuesday, the Afghanistan Cricket Board announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. As expected, ace leg-spinner, who is busy at the IPL 2024 at the moment, will lead the Afghani team, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mohammed Ishaq will be the two wicket-keepers.
Noteworthily, the ACB also named the 39-year-old Mohammad Nabi in the team, while another of their senior pros, Ibrahim Zadran, who led the T20 side in Rashid’s absence, also found a place in the squad.

One of the major exclusions from the team was that of ODI skipper Hasmatullah Shahidi, who isn’t considered a T20I option anyway.
