AFG defeats ZIM in 2nd Test: Williams, Tiripano’s fight go in vain as Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe by 5 wickets; level series 1-1 (AFG vs ZIM 2nd TesT)- A sensation performance by Rashid Khan followed by Afghanistan batsmen has helped the latter clinch victory in the second Test. They have tied the Test series 1-1 after scoring 545/5 dec in 1st innings. Hasmatuallh Shahidi (200 runs) and Asghar Afghan (164) were also among the main heroes of the match.

In the second innings, they needed a mere 108 runs to chase but lost key wickets in the chase. Rahmat Shah (58) slammed a fifty.

The match was pushed to Day 5 after a remarkable eighth-wicket partnership between Zimbabwe skipper Sean Williams (309) and Donald Tiripano 95 (258). The duo added 187 runs partnership and nearly saved the match for Zimbabwe eventually falling few runs short towards the end. The record innings will be registered in history books.

Zimbabwe were bowled out twice for 287 runs, 365 runs in 1st and 2nd innings respectively. Rashid Khan was the stand out bowler, he picked 11 wickets.

In their bid to save the epic Test match, Zimbabwe stretched their lead to 107 runs on Day 5 after they were enforced follow-on by Afghanistan. Sean Williams remained unbeaten on 151 while Donald Tirpano departed after well made 95 runs.

Importantly, he faced 258 balls while Sean Williams has batted for over 300 balls. The duo put up a 150+ partnership to save Zimbabwe from an innings defeat.

Afghanistan finally managed to break the 187-run eighth-wicket stand as Rashid Khan dismissed Donald Tiripano on 95. Blessing Muzarbani also played 43 deliveries.

On the other hand, Aghar Afghan and Co are in search of wickets to wrap up the game. They are 0-1 behind in the Test series.
