Opting to bat, Afghanistan posted a good total of 160/5 on the back of handy knocks from M Shahzad, Hazratullah Zazai, M Nabi & former skipper Asghar Afghan. Asghar Afghan, who played his last international match, scored 31 off 23 deliveries in his final innings.
Earlier, H Zazai and M Shahzad provided a solid start to Afghanistan, adding 50 runs in the powerplay.

J Smit provided the first breakthrough to Namibia by dismissing Zazai for 33 in the seventh over. But, M Shahzad went on to score 45 off 33 and returned as the top scorer for the side. R Trumpelmann, however, got rid of M Shahzad to bring Namibia back in the game.

Afghanistan Former skipper Asghar Afghan then played a crucial knock off 31 off 23 and set the stage for M Nabi to help Afghanistan get past 150 runs mark. M Nabi returned unbeaten on 32 off 17 balls and helped his side post a competitive total of 160/5.

Soon, Namibia was reduced to 29/3 inside the powerplay. Barring David Wiese’s 26 off 30, none of the Namibia batters managed to get past the score of 12 runs. Namibia, eventually fell short by 62 runs, finishing off at 98/9 in the allotted overs.
