Former cricketers have termed Australia pace attack more lethal as compared to the Indian pace battery.

Team Australia is set to take on India in the final encounter of the World Test Championship. The match is slated to start from June 7 onwards. Ahead of the clash, several cricket experts and pundits are predicting the winner of the clash. Meanwhile, former cricketers have termed Aussie pace attack more lethal as compared to the Indian attack.

“If Jasprit Bumrah was there in the Indian squad, I would have said that both bowling attacks are strong. But their (Australian attack) has Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc,” said former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri. Not only Shastri but the former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting and Pakistan’s legendary pacer Wasim Akram have also termed the Aussie pace attack better as compared to the Indian bowling line-up.

“I would say Australia is slightly favourite. The conditions at Oval is similar to Australia. Plus, most of the guys have had breaks and some of them are playing in England already, Ponting said earlier.

Singing the same note as Shastri and Ponting, Wasim Akram also believes that the conditions will slightly help the Aussie pace attack. “Australia slightly favourite as the conditions will help them as well as their fast bowling unit,” said Akram.

Meanwhile, the Aussie team on Sunday suffered a huge blow as their premier pacer Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the WTC 2023 Finals owing to an injury. Pacer Michael Neser has been recalled as Hazlewood’s replacement.
