India opener Prithvi Shaw took to Instagram and posted a cryptic quote amidst severe criticism on his fitness. “Accept both compliments and criticism. Because a flower to grow takes both sun and rain,” Shaw shared a quote in his Instagram story.
Prithvi Shaw, who has started his preparations for the IPL 2024, shared a new video on his social media account which shows him practicing in the nets.
However, netizens were quick to notice Shaw’s bulky physique and trolled the cricketer over his poor fitness.

Meanwhile, several fans urged the Delhi Capitals’ opener to shed some weight before eyeing a return in the national squad.
“This video makes me so sad. That should not be the physique of a confident, fighting international cricketer/athelete. I still don’t understand where it went wrong with him. He was supposed to be the next batting superstar in World Cricket. Unbelievable!”, another concerned fan wrote on X.
Notably, Shaw has been out of cricketing action since September after he sustained a knee injury while playing for Northamptonshire in the one-day championship fixture against Durham in September this year.
Despite fitness concern and poor form in IPL 2023, the 24-year-old has been retained by franchise Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2024 Auction.
