Shrugging off injury concerns after taking a blow to his elbow, KL Rahul is all set and ready to go in IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth

KL Rahul has shrugged off injury concerns and is ready to go for IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth. Rohit Sharma’s replacement as opener suffered an injury scare after being hit on the elbow during the intra-squad match. However, KL Rahul returned to the training session on Sunday and was seen sweating it out in the middle in the nets.

KL Rahul ready for IND vs AUS 1st Test

In a video uploaded by BCCI on social media platform X, KL Rahul and members of the Indian team management shed light on the nature of KL Rahul’s injury concern. The batter revealed that he was feeling good on Sunday and is gearing up for the 1st Test. He added that he was happy to arrive in Australia early and getting used to the conditions.

KL Rahul arrived in Australia much before the rest of the Indian team. The BCCI decided to send Rahul and Dhruv Jurel to participate in India A’s matches against Australia A in preparation for IND vs AUS Test series.

Team India had opted for a match simulation instead of a match against Australia A or one of their domestic sides. To better prepare for what was about to come, the Indian batters including KL Rahul were peppered with short balls. One ball sneaked past Rahul’s defense and hit him. He seemed fine and continued until the pain became unbearable and he walked off.

The injury had come exactly a week before the Perth Test started, and with five days still to go, Rahul is on track to play. It wasn’t a light training session either, as the wicketkeeper batter was facing Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah at full throttle.
