IND vs ENG Test: Aakash Chopra hits back at English Cricket after ECB's mega fiasco in Shoaib Bashir visa delay

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has hit out hard at English Cricket. The English media have created a ruckus after Shoaib Bashir had to travel back to UK to get his visa approved. However, English media has slandered the Indian system of delaying the player’s visa since he has a Pakistani origin.

It has been revealed that it has been ECB’s fault which has caused the delay. Aakash Chopra has taken a cheeky dig regarding the ‘Spirit’ of cricket. He pointed out that English Cricket always invokes the spirit of the game whenever they are on the wrong side of the law.

The young spinner has been ruled out of the IND vs ENG 1st Test. The 20-year-old had to travel back to UK to get his visa delay sorted. As per media reports, it has ECB’s fault in the entire debacle.

As per the rules, Bashir’s passport required to be stamped by the Indian High Commission in UK. But the process was not followed, as a result the young spinner didn’t get his visa cleared in UAE.

Rohit Sharma Sympathises with Shoaib Bashir

Despite ECB’s fault in the entire fiasco, English media continued to slander the Indian system. This prompted Aakash Chopra to take his sly dig at the Three Lions.

India Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma shared his sympathy towards Bashir when he spoke in the Pre Match Press Conference.

“I feel for him honestly. This is probably the first time he’s coming for the first time with the England set up. It’s not easy for anyone. It could be one of our guys who wanted to come to England and has been denied and is not available to get the visa. Unfortunately I don’t sit in the visa office to give you more details on that. I hope he can make it here quickly and enjoy our country and play some cricket as well,” said Rohit.
