Aakash Chopra shuts down rumours of Virat Kohli getting dropped for T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli: Ahead of start of IPL 2024, Aakash Chopra shuts down rumours of Virat Kohli getting dropped from Team India for T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli has been making the headlines off late. The reason? The star batter might be dropped from Team India for the ICC T20 World Cup. Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has addressed the rumours claiming the news is untrue as there is no official confirmation about the same.

It will be a huge bold step from the BCCI Selection Committee should they decide to drop Kohli from the the team. However, that is highly unlikely to be the case. Kohli will be eyeing his return to action soon for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

“There is no official confirmation that Kohli will be dropped. He played against Afghanistan in the T20I series which meant he will play the T20 World Cup. Rohit would be the captain and Kohli will be in the team,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

“Also I saw reports that said he can’t play in slow pitches. On the contrary, Kohli will prefer slow pitches. In slow pitches where the score goes to 150-160, in such conditions Kohli is the King. Furthermore if the pitches are too slow, that SKY won’t like it, Hardik won’t like it, no one would like it.” Chopra added.
