The 23-year-old has played 21 T20I matches in last 12 months, picking up 34 wickets at an economy of 7.14.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has claimed that young Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi’s inclusion in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad is “almost done deal” and the spinner will be seen playing a key role next year in the tournament.

Talking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra was asked by a fan regarding the prospect of seeing Ravi Bishnoi in Team India’s T20 World Cup squad.

The cricket commentator and pundit said that the wrist spinner has been among the wickets for India and a good IPL can cement youngster’s spot in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad which is set to be played in USA and West Indies next year.

“I feel his [Ravi Bishnoi] inclusion in T20 World Cup squad is almost done deal because the way he is bowling and picking wickets. He is consistent, wicket-taker, can bowl from new ball. The tournament will be played in USA and West Indies, slow pitches and I think he will bring value. At this moment, as a wrist spinner, he is very accurate and if he has a decent IPL [2024], he will definitely be in the team”, Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Bishnoi has been leading India’s spin department in the absence of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.

The 23-year-old has played 21 T20I matches in last 12 months, picking up 34 wickets at an economy of 7.14.

The leg spinner had a decent IPL 2023 season, picking up 16 wickets in 15 matches for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at an average of 24.44.

He has been retained by the KL Rahul-led franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, which is set to take place on December 19 in Dubai.
