A plus we’re not bowling to Virat Kohli: Mark Wood ready to take advantage of India sans Kohli

IND vs ENG: Advantage England claims Mark Wood with no Virat Kohli for 2 IND vs ENG Test matches

Ahead of the IND vs ENG Test series, England Cricket Team pacer Mark Wood has sent his best wishes to Virat Kohli. The English speedster has claimed it will be a big benefit to the team with Virat Kohli not playing the first two Test matches. In the Pre Match Press Conference Wood heaped praises for Kohli claiming him to be a phenomenal player.

Virat Kohli pulled out of the first 2 Test matches of the IND vs ENG Test series citing Personal reasons. The Indian side is yet to name a substitute in Kohli’s absence.

“I don’t know what is going on in his personal life, but there are bigger things than cricket,” said Mark Wood ahead of the IND vs ENG 1st Test in Hyderabad.

“Hopefully he’s going to be alright. It’s obviously a big impact cricketing-wise because he’s one of the best players in the world, one of the best players ever. In terms of cricket, it’s a plus that we’re not having to bowl to Virat Kohli,” Wood added.

The India vs England Test series is of utmost importance to both the sides with crucial WTC Points up for grabs. As for the hosts, the absence of Virat Kohli will be a big blow. And England will be keen to take advantage of the same.
