‘A look at KKR dugout will fire Virat Kohli up’: Ex-RCB star makes big claim regarding Kohli vs Gambhir rivalry

Kohli and Gambhir will renew their rivalry when RCB welcome KKR to their home ground. All eyes will be on the players and sparks are almost sure to fly.

Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, who play different roles for their respective teams, have lit up the IPL with their sporadic altercations. The two will square off again in the Indian Premier League 2024 on Friday when Gambhir, now the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders, returns to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to take on Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Former India speedster Varun Aaron weighed in on the Kohli vs Gambhir battle, claiming if Virat Kohli so much as looks at the KKR dugout, it is going to fire him up seeing Gambhir sitting there.

Kohli has had quite a few exchanges with Gambhir over the past few years in the IPL. During a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023 league stage, a brawl broke out between Gambhir and Kohli. Gambhir and Kohli got into a furious verbal altercation following the game.

Looking forward: Varun Aaron

Varun Aaron said he is looking forward to the tussle.

I’m looking forward to the match up outside the boundary line. Gautam Gambhir is going to be at the boundary line right beside the RCB dugout, don’t know what’s going to happen there. You know how Virat is, he likes to have some fire all the time, and if he just looks at the KKR dugout, he’s just going to be fired up,” Aaron said while speaking on Star Sports.
