Australia’s bowling woes continue as Cameron Green joins centurion club in Indore

Cameron Green conceded 103 runs in 10 overs as Team India posted a mammoth 399 on board.

It was a mixed-day on the field for Australian all-rounder Cameron Green in IND vs AUS 2nd ODI. While the youngster was the top wicket taker for the Men in Yellow with 2 wickets, he was also the most expensive bowler for the visitors. The 24-year-old gave registered bowling figures of 2/103 in 10 overs as Team India posted a mammoth 399 in 50 overs. Green is the fourth Australian bowler to concede more than 100 runs in ODIs. He has also become the bowler with most runs conceded while picking atleast 2 wickets in an ODI.

Notably, the star all-rounder has been a big asset for the Australian side with the ball in last couple of years. But his dip just before the World Cup 2023 has given Australia team management a big headache.

Green was on the receiving end of Suryakumar Yadav’s blistering knock, where the Indian batter smoked him for 4 consecutive sixes.

The Australian all-rounder’s expensive outing triggered a meme fest on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Check out some reactions:

However, Cameron Green was not the only bowler who went for plenty. It was a long day for all Australian bowlers as they were left speechless with India’s batting. Shreyas Iyer (105) and Shubman Gill (104) played the Aussie bowling with ease, while Suryakumar Yadav (72*) and KL Rahul (52) punished the visitors at death.

India (Playing XI): Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul(c), Ishan Kishan(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna

Australia (Playing XI): David Warner, Matthew Short, Steven Smith(c), Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis, Alex Carey(w), Cameron Green, Sean Abbott, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood, Spencer Johnson
