Another bowler on the list is South Africa’s Anrich Nortje, whose presence in this list is not surprising as the Proteas pacer currently stands second on the wicket-taking chart. He has picked up 13 wickets in just 7 matches with a bowling average of 7.78.
Since South Africa is looking for their first ICC silverware, Nortje’s performances with the ball are proving boon for the Proteas.
Fazal Farooqi
With 17 wickets in eight games, Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi currently leads with the most wickets in the T20 World Cup 2024. However, his team did not qualify for the finals after being decimated by South Africa, who bundled them out for just 56 runs in the semifinals.
But without a doubt, Farooqi has been a standout performer throughout the tournament, especially during the group stages and Super 8. He is also a strong contender for the prestigious Player of the Tournament award.
