DC collapse in 5 minutes of chaos as Mumbai Indians steal a win with first hat-trick of IPL 2025

From 135/2 in 11.4 overs, Delhi Capitals were bowled out for 193 in 19 overs as they lost the match to Mumbai Indians by 12 runs.

It all went down to the wire, but a team hat-trick decided the fate of the match. Mumbai pulled off a stunning win in a thrilling encounter of IPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. Karun Nair had all but sealed the match for DC. With 23 runs needed off the last 12 balls, DC’s Ashutosh Sharma hit Jasprit Bumrah for two consecutive boundaries. But then all hell broke loose in DC vs MI clash. In what was five minutes of chaos, Delhi collapsed under pressure.

First hat-trick of IPL 2025

18.4 ovs: Jasprit Bumrah bowled a pinpoint yorker to Ashutosh Sharma. The youngster managed to survive the yorker as he pushed it to deep backward point. But as he tried to steal the second run, Ryan Rickelton uprooted the stumps with Will Jacks making an excellent throw. Ashutosh also took a tumble as he had to navigate past Bumrah while running for the second. DC 192/8.

18.5 ovs: Kuldeep Yadav came to the crease and faced Bumrah with DC needing 14 runs. As Bumrah bowled a full delivery, Kuldeep lofted it towards long-on. While the first run was comfortable, they gambled for a second and that is where Kuldeep made the mistake. Rickelton collected Raj Bawa’s throw and removed the stumps to run Kuldeep out. DC 193/9.

18.6 ovs: With DC 9 down and still 12 runs needed to win, Mihit Sharma came to the crease. Bumrah bowled another full delivery and as Mohit pushed it towards the mid-wicket, Mitchell Starc called for a single. However, as Mohit hesitated, Mitchell Santner fired a direct hit. Mohit was nowhere in the frame. That

It was the first hat-trick of IPL 2025 by an individual or a team. Also, there was never a hat-trick of run-out in IPL history. But it all changed on Sunday.
