It is highly commendable to score a quadruple century in any form of cricket, let alone India’s premier U-23 domestic competition – the CK Nayudu Trophy. Hence, let’s all appreciate Haryana’s opener, Yashvardhan Dalal, who created a superb milestone by becoming the first player to score a quadruple century in the CK Nayudu Trophy. This extraordinary feat was achieved on Saturday (November 09) at the Gurugram Cricket Ground in New Delhi during a match against Mumbai. Dalal ended Day 2 with an unbeaten score of 426 runs, with his team’s score at 732/8.
Yashvardhan Dalal & his record-breaking performance
Dalal’s extraordinary knock, which came off just 463 deliveries and included 46 boundaries and 12 sixes, surpassed the previous tournament record held by Sameer Rizvi. The right-handed batsman’s innings has been characterized by both endurance and aggression, maintaining a striking rate of nearly 92 throughout his stay at the crease. This is absolutely superb, given he batted for over 460 balls.
The foundation for this monumental achievement was laid through a spectacular opening partnership with Arsh Ranga. The duo put on 410 runs in 98 overs, with Ranga contributing a solid 151. While other Haryana batters made starts without converting them into substantial scores, Dalal remained unmoved at one end, steering his team to an imposing 732/8 by stumps on Day 2.

Sameer Rizvi’s record thrashed!
This innings by Yashvardhan Dalal is even more impressive when you consider that it broke a record set just nine months ago. Sameer Rizvi had scored 312 runs for Uttar Pradesh against Saurashtra, the first triple century in the tournament’s history. Dalal has not only surpassed this record but has set a new, incredibly high bar. Moreover, he is still unbeaten and who knows if he goes on to complete 500?
