Pakistan is set to host the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. As a result, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that 4 major stadiums in the country will undergo massive upgradation. The PCB chief also went on to shed light about the vice captaincy dilemma in the team
While addressing the media, Mohsin Naqvi has claimed that the four major stadiums in the country will be upgraded. These include the stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. “The stadiums will be upgraded, definitely. The work on the stadiums’ structure and decoration is already underway,” Mohsin Naqvi said.
Injury Concerns & Vice Captaincy Dilemma
Quite a few things are currently at play. There is no vice captain of the team and the PCB chief has claimed that the selectors are discussing on the same. He has promised that that vice captain will be decided before the next series. “We are under talks with the selectors over the vice-captaincy, it will be decided and announced before our next series,” Naqvi claimed.
2 players in the team are injured. These include the likes of Azam Khan and Ihsanullah. The former is missing the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. As for Ihsanullah, the player is England for his elbow injury. “For us, every player and their treatment are important for us, I am monitoring the situation myself. I have already formed a medical board to examine Ihsanullah’s treatment carefully,” Naqvi concluded.
