The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have something to smile about. Their main man is fit again. Sunil Narine, who missed the last IPL 2025 match due to illness, is ready for his 179th IPL match. The much-awaited clash at the Wankhede Stadium will be played against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 31, Monday. KKR head coach Chandrakant Pandit revealed that Narine is “100% fit” and has recovered quite well after missing KKR’s opening win in Guwahati against RR.
Good news for KKR
On Saturday, there were reports that Narine had practiced well and looked solid. The three-time champions have shared a picture from Wankhede Stadium showing the veteran sweating hard during practice, giving KKR fans clear hope that he may soon be back on track. On the matchday eve, the KKR head coach buried all the tensions for the Kolkata fans.
“Sunil is 100% fit. He has definitely recovered well, and he’s been practising since yesterday (Saturday). Today he is practising as well, so he is absolutely fine at the moment,” Pandit said to reporters on the eve of the MI vs KKR clash.
It is a superb news for KKR, who will get the opening pair of destructive Narine alongside man-in-form Quinton de Kock. On de Kock’s form, Chandrakant also shared his views. “The way Quinton has started this tournament has been impressive. His confidence level, especially in T20 cricket, is remarkable. Having someone who can attack in the first six overs makes a difference for the entire team. That’s the quality he brings,” Pandit remarked.
