Coming in to bat in the second over of the innings after the wicket of Anuj Rawat, Kohli started off slowly. He took time to settle in as he kept nudging singles. He scored his first boundary off his eighth ball and just when it looked like he is in the zone, he was dismissed unfortunately through the run out.
Kohli tried to steal a single by hitting to the fielder at point, however Lalit Yadav dived to his right and threw straightaway to the single visible stump. Kohli was sent back by Maxwell as the ball hit the stumps, stunning Kohli. He fell marginally short of the crease and had to walk back to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs off 14 balls.
This is Virat Kohli’s second run-out this season. The previous instance of his run out came against Rajasthan Royals. Kohli has so far scored 119 runs six innings at an average of 23.8.
