IPL auction done, and now all eyes are on the upcoming cash-rich league, which is not far away. But who could emerge as winner this time? See three quality teams that may win IPL 2025.

Auction done, and now the preparation for IPL 2025 is all good to go. If we trust the reports fully, then from March 14, we’ll see the IPL once again. Since teams are coming off revamping their squads, the chances are there will be many turnarounds in the upcoming IPL. A total of 182 players were sold in the IPL 2025 auction, with many big names coming under the spotlight, from Rishabh Pant to Shreyas Iyer to KL Rahul, all got the big money. Meanwhile, some big names also went unsold, such as David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, and Shardul Thakur, who failed to attract any bidders. Teams made some tweaks, just for one thing, and that is the upcoming IPL trophy, since that is the pinnacle for each and every IPL team. So what can we expect now? Since all teams are set with their squads, making things really curious. But if we look closely, there are three teams that look more lethal this time than ever before. They could surely surprise everyone with their game and may emerge as possible contenders for IPL 2025. Take a look at these three quality teams that look like real contenders for IPL 2025.

Teams that may win the IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians

Now, you can’t write off Mumbai Indians despite their worst season last year. Even in recent years, they have struggled more than they’ve won. But since five-time champions are accustomed to winning, and they’ve got a good mix once again this time. Firstly, they have retained their trustworthy core of players like Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav. Then, when they went to the auction, they picked up some big names, from Trent Boult to Deepak Chahar. Along with Ishan Kishan, they’ve also brought in players like Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton, who will strengthen the batting lineup. Overall, MI looks well-balanced for IPL 2025, and we can expect them to dominate in the upcoming season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

If we look at a few top-quality teams in recent times, even after the IPL 2025 mega auction, one team that stands out currently is Sunrisers Hyderabad. After a transformative season in IPL 2024, where they shifted from a defensive approach to an aggressive one, there has been no looking back. Last time, they finished as runners-up, but this time it looks like the team is set to rule the IPL. And why not? The team now boasts one of the best attacks, with players like Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma at the top, and Nitish Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen to stabilize the middle order. Now, with Mohammed Shami also in the pack, the team looks even stronger for the upcoming IPL.

Last time, we saw how they were able to score 200 plus runs multiple times, and this time, it looks like more runs are on the way. With bowlers like Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, and Mohammed Shami all part of the Orange Army, we can expect them to dominate with the ball for SRH.

Punjab Kings

One team that has just retained two uncapped players and went to Jeddah with a big budget has been able to make some impressive signings. From Shreyas Iyer to Marco Jansen to Arshdeep Singh, all are now part of the Punjab Kings. For Glenn Maxwell, it will be a homecoming since he has already played for the franchise and understands the camp well. Everything looks perfect, despite a few issues here and there. Lack of an Indian wicketkeeper is a concern, and the lack of a quality spinner could also haunt them. But apart from that, the team looks well-balanced and ready for big goals.

There’s no hiding the fact that the Punjab Kings’ situation could be compared to a sinking ship at sea. They have no trophies yet, but this time, the way they have strategized their IPL team is giving hope to Punjab Kings supporters.
