One thing is clear, any team looking for a wicketkeeper-batter will prioritize getting Ishan Kishan. Currently, RCB needs a wicketkeeper-batter following Dinesh Karthik’s retirement from all forms of cricket. The vacancy for the wicketkeeper position is now open, and Kishan appears to be a perfect fit. With 104 IPL games of experience, he has scored 2,644 runs in 99 innings and has significant experience as a gloveman, with 44 catches and 5 stumpings. There is no question that he has established himself as a prolific wicketkeeper-batter, and RCB may go after him.
GT
Gujarat Titans, which currently has Wriddhiman Saha and Matthew Wade, might look to the future, given the age of both players. Although they also have B.R. Sharath, Ishan Kishan’s greater game experience makes him a strong candidate. If Shubman Gill-led GT decides to go for Kishan, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Shubman Gill has always backed Ishan Kishan, and if GT pursues him, we could see Kishan taking charge as an opener alongside Gill.

What if KL Rahul gets released? Although there is no confirmation yet about whether he will stay or leave the franchise, if he does get released, LSG will lose not only a batter, but also a wicketkeeper, a role Rahul has performed commendably since LSG’s inception in IPL 2022. If LSG releases KL Rahul, it could create space for Ishan Kishan. Given that the team is relatively new with only three seasons of experience, they may look to acquire players, who could be assets for the long term, and Ishan Kishan could be one of those players. It will be highly interesting to see, which team goes after him, if he goes under the hammer.
