3 released CSK players who could be in high demand at IPL 2025 mega auction

CSK now have a core with players like MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the mix. However, there are some big names they have released, and chances are that a few released players may attract high bids in the upcoming auction.

When we talk about the Indian Premier League, people automatically mention the Chennai Super Kings. As one of the most beloved teams and five-time champions, CSK has always been a fan favorite, not only for their on-field performances but also for their strategic approach during the auction. This season, they’ve retained key players such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Matheesha Pathirana, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and, of course, MS Dhoni. However, they’ve also released a few names who are expected to draw significant attention in the upcoming IPL 2025 auction. So, who are the top-quality CSK players released that could fetch substantial amounts at the IPL 2025 mega auction? See three names likely to be in high demand.

Rachin Ravindra

Kiwi all-rounder Rachin Ravindra, who mostly shines with the bat, showcased his class in India, as seen during the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup, where he scored 578 runs. He also impressed in the recent Test series against India. His ability to play strokes and rotate the strike makes him a high-quality top-order batter. In the last IPL season, while playing for CSK, he scored 222 runs in 10 games with a strike rate of 160. This clearly shows that he knows how to get a quick start, and it’s likely that he will fetch a big amount in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Devon Conway

A total of 924 runs in just 22 innings with an average of 48 – that’s what every team needs in the IPL. CSK has also released another Kiwi this time, and that is Devon Conway. This fiery left-hander was one of the most important players when he played for CSK, and chances are that CSK might bring him back via RTM, as everyone is aware of how destructive a batter he is. However, if CSK doesn’t retain him, which would come as a surprise, we may see many other teams going for this power-packed batter in the upcoming IPL auction.

Shardul Thakur

Five-time champions CSK also released all-rounder Shardul Thakur. This fast-bowling all-rounder is extremely impactful in the middle overs of the game, known for breaking partnerships. Thakur has massive experience playing in the IPL, with a total of 57 games for CSK, in which he picked up 60 wickets. He was also one of the key players in 2021 when CSK won their 4th title, picking up 21 wickets that season. Also, with the bat, he plays the role of contributing valuable runs, giving his team an extra push, which counts as valuable in the end. With all these qualities, he is a key player for any team, and this is why we may see him attracting bids from multiple teams in the upcoming auction.
