With India set to lock horns with the New Zealand in IND vs NZ Cricket World Cup semi-final on Wednesday, November 15, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli who will be eyeing few records to break.

India have been undefeated so far, winning all 9 games they played in the ODI World Cup and a victory against New Zealand would take the Men in Blue in the final of the tournament.

Virat Kohli, who has been in exceptional form in the World Cup, will have a golden chance to enter the history books in Mumbai on Wednesday.

1. Most ODI centuries in history

Virat Kohli missed out on scoring his 50th ODI ton in the IND vs NED game on Sunday. However, the 35-year-old will have another chance to break Sachin Tendulkar’s all-time record of most centuries in the ODIs.

2. Most runs scored in single edition of ODI World Cup

Virat Kohli is currently the leading run-scorer in the ongling World Cup. The star batter has slammed 594 runs in 9 games and has a chance to go past “God of Cricket” Sachin Tendulkar to become the highest run-getter in tournament history.

Tendulkar amassed 673 runs in 2003 World Cup. Kohli just needs 80 runs to past the Master Blaster and set a new record. However, South African opener Quinton de Kock (591), New Zealand opener Rachin Ravindra (565) and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma (503) are also in race to break the record.

3. Most centuries in winning cause

Century number 50 in the IND vs NZ semi-final will also provide Virat Kohli a chance to surpass Australian legend Ricky Ponting for the most International centuries in winning causes.

The 35-year-old is currently tied with the former Australian skipper on 55 tons but he will have a chance to go past Ponting with a match-winning century at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
