The two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champs, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are looking a balanced side in the ongoing edition. Currently, KKR is placed second in the IPL points table. They have won 5 out of their 8 games and will want to finish the group stages on a high note before entering the knockout stages.
Why KKR can win IPL 2024?
Destructive openers
Sunil Narine and Philip Salt have been the most successful opening pair in IPL 2024. Coming out to bat in the field restrictions, Salt and Narine waste no time in attacking the bowlers. Their fast template of batting sets the tone for KKR to post big totals on the board.
Talented youngsters
The likes of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Ramandeep Singh, Vaibhav Arora and even Harshit Rana have impressed with their performances in the ongoing IPL. In batting, both Angkrish and Ramandeep have played some blazing cameos with the bat. On the other hand, Vaibhav and Harshit have been taken for runs but have also managed to take wickets at crucial junctures.
Mystery spinners
KKR bowling has been an issue for them in the ongoing edition. Despite having some decent spinners including Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, and Suyash Sharma, KKR spinners have not been in their best. However, as the tournament progresses, spinners are expected to have a major say in the knockout stages. The likes of Narine and Chakravarthy might turn out to be the biggest match-winners for Kolkata Knight Riders.
