Following the conclusion of the Duleep Trophy 2024, another domestic season is set to entertain cricket fans. The teams Mumbai and Rest of India will compete in a one-off Test for the Irani Cup 2024 title, scheduled from October 1 to 5. The squads have been announced for both teams, featuring several star players, while some notable names are absent, even though they are not part of the Indian Test squad for the Bangladesh series.

Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav has not been part of India’s plans for the longer format of the game. However, his return in the Duleep Trophy indicated that he is interested in focusing on Test cricket to prove that he can be a long-format player as well. Unfortunately, his performance in the Duleep Trophy was not great and somewhat disappointing. With India set to play a T20I series against Bangladesh starting October 6, the new captain will not be available for the tournament.
