3 all-rounders who will be in demand in IPL 2025 if released by franchise

No one can deny the core need for top-notch all-rounders in the IPL. With IPL 2025 mega auction coming soon, take a look at which top all-rounders could get a big paycheck.

All-rounders are always in demand, and when it comes to the IPL, their importance peaks for several reasons. As the financial aspect is big, franchises prefer all-rounders who can contribute effectively with both bat and ball. This versatility alleviates some pressure from franchise management, allowing them to allocate more time to specialists if all-rounders are doing their job properly. Secondly, as mentioned, in a 20-over game, the demand for all-rounders is consistently high, making them a primary target for franchises.

As the IPL 2025 auction coming, we can expect all-rounders to getting high rates, similar to past auctions. So, who are the top-quality all-rounders likely to be in demand during the IPL 2025 mega auction if franchises release them? Here are a few big names who could get the big price in IPL auction.

All-Rounders who will be in demand in IPL 2025

Glenn Maxwell

One major name who is all set to leave the RCB franchise is Glenn Maxwell, who failed to make a mark in IPL 2024. This was a setback, as he had an amazing performance in the 50-over World Cup 2023 just before that. However, he failed to replicate any of those achievements with either bat or ball, scoring only 52 runs in 10 games at an average of 5.78. With the ball, he showed some decency, taking six wickets, but he conceded many runs, resulting in an economy rate of more than 8.

Since he also unfollowed RCB on Instagram, there is a strong possibility that he may leave the camp. This means there are a few franchises that may look to him as a potential best buy. If so, we may see the spin-bowling all-rounder commanding a significant amount in IPL 2025.

Hardik Pandya

The chances of this happening are extremely slim, But Hardik Pandya who came to the Mumbai Indians as captain after leading the Gujarat Titans to the IPL 2022 trophy. However, he has struggled miserably in IPL 2024, both with the bat and the ball, and has also failed as captain. This was a key reason why the team finished 10th, or last, on the points table. This means MI will at least think twice before retaining him.

If they release him, he could be a great buy for others franchises, especially considering how Pandya redeemed himself in the T20 World Cup 2024. However, it will also depend on how things progress within the MI camp. As mentioned, the chances are slim, but if they do let him go, he could emerge as one of the best players under the hammer, potentially gets more money than he currently does.

Washington Sundar

The next name is certainly a future star for India, Washington Sundar, who did not have a good outing in IPL 2024. He played just two games for Sunrisers Hyderabad, taking only one wicket with an economy of 14.60. This indicates that SRH did not utilize him as much as they should have. If this scenario continues, the franchise would be better off releasing him from the camp.

Sundar, as mentioned, is emerging as a potentially big name for India and could attract many buyers. With both batting and bowling abilities, he has 60 IPL games of experience, over 300 runs coming down the order, and 37 wickets to his name, which will likely generate interest among franchises.
