Australia batter Will Pucovski’s unending affair with concussion continues as he suffered yet another one while playing for Victoria second XI. This is the 12th time the batter has suffered a concussion owing to a blow to his head.
As per the latest update on Monday, Puckovski returned to the nets at Adelaide even as the team waited for the concussion test results. As per reports, the batter experienced slight dizziness before retiring hurt but the concern was much lower on Monday.
Pucovski was the victim of a short delivery that crashed into the side of his helmet as he attempted to pull the delivery. The batter went down immediately, with his teammate and the other players rushing to him. Attempting to play on further, Pucovski was forced to retire hurt four balls later, bringing to end his 43-run knock.
With the Sheffield Shield scheduled to commence next week and having already missed the BBL 2023, the concussion comes as the latest blow to the already fatigued Pucovski.
Earmarked as a special talent right from a young age, Pucovski was all set to partner David Warner at the top in the Ashes series Down Under. A freak head injury meant Pucovski had to take his 11th concussion test. The 24-year-old has played just one first-class game post his Test debut due to a series of concussions, meaning that an opportunity with the Australian squad has also gone begging multiple times.
