1000th IPL Match: Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal turned back the clock to 2008 with an incredible achievement during his 124 run knock against Mumbai Indians (MI). Jaiswal continued his fine form in the ongoing IPL 2023 as the southpaw demolished MI at their home ground. The young opener become the second player in the history of Indian Premier League to make more than 100 runs when any other batter couldn’t cross 20 in the 1000th IPL match. 1000th IPL Match: Jaiswal whacks the bowlers in Wankhede
Yashasvi Jaiswal looked like a man possessed to prove his worth to the world. Jaiswal was already having the time of his up the order in this Indian Premier League 2023 season but took his performance to the next level in the 1000th IPL match and played a knock that will be remembered for a long time.
The southpaw looked set from ball one and did even give time to his partner and last season’s orange cap winner Jos Buttler to settle down.
Jaiswal started things off with a six to premier English fast bowler Jofra Archer as the ball out of the stadium for a 94-meter maximum.
Jaiswal seemed to have slowed down a bit as he his partners fell on the other end but ended his imperious innings with a strike rate of 200 as he scored 124 runs from just 62 deliveries. His destructive innings consisted of 16 fours and 8 sixes.
He single-handedly took his side past 200, making more than 50 percent of his side’s total, with extras being the second highest run-scorer.
