Australia becomes the first team to hold all ICC trophies at the same time

Having already won the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup in 2023, Australia has a chance to hold all three ICC trophies if they win the T20 World Cup 2024.

Australia win their 6th ODI World Cup title.

India women’s cricket team wins first ever World Cup

20 women’s cricket World Cups have been played since 1973, and India hasn’t won one yet. With continuous improvement, it’s time for the Women in Blue to bring the trophy home at the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The biggest gap between T20 World Cup titles

So far, only two teams have won the T20 World Cup twice (England and the West Indies). The West Indies won the titles in 2012 and 2016, while England won in 2010 and 2022. With the T20 World Cup 2024 coming up, Pakistan and India have a chance to not only win their second title but also create the record for the biggest gap between T20 World Cup titles.

India won the event in the inaugural edition (2007), while Pakistan claimed the title in the second edition (2009). If either of them wins the title, they’ll create the record for the biggest gap between T20 World Cup titles.

New men’s T20 World Cup champion

So far, six nations have won the ICC event since its inception in 2007. With 20 nations to take part in the T20 World Cup 2024, a new team other than India, the West Indies, Pakistan, England, Australia, and Sri Lanka can win the trophy.

Rashid Khan breaks the record for most T20I wickets

Arguably the greatest T20 bowler of all time, the Afghani talisman is currently in third place on the list of most wickets in T20Is. With 15 bilateral matches and the T20 World Cup to be played in 2024, he can easily break the record.

James Anderson becomes the 2nd highest wicket-taker in Test cricket

Just 18 wickets behind the late great Shane Warne, James Anderson has the opportunity to breach Warne’s 708-wicket mark. With England scheduled to play 16 Tests in 2024, the veteran pacer can go past the mark easily.

Yuzvendra Chahal becomes the first Indian bowler to take 100 T20I wickets

With 96 wickets to his name, Chahal needs just 4 wickets to claim the record.

Ravichandran Ashwin breaches the 500-wicket mark

Ashwin needs just 11 wickets to move past the 500-wicket mark. With India playing 16 Tests in 2024, Ashwin can easily become the 2nd Indian bowler to take 500 wickets.
