IND vs AFG: After consecutive ducks, Rohit Sharma has hammered a fine fifty in IND vs AFG 3rd T20I to break out of his lean patch

Silver Duck, Golden Duck, Fifty – Rohit Sharma hammers a fine fifty against the Afghans to break out of his lean patch. The Hitman hammered a fine fifty in just 41 balls to bring India out of a precarious situation. With 5 fours and 3 sixes, the India Captain finally gets a fifty on his T20I return series.

It is safe to say that Rohit Sharma’s fifty has come at a very crucial juncture of the match. Team India headed into the game with a comfortable 2-0 lead. But the Men in Blue top order fell like a pack of cards. Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson departed for golden ducks while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube departed on 4 and 1 respectively.

With India being reduced to 22-4, a big knock was needed from the Indian skipper. And the Hitman delivered that. He stitched a good partnership to keep the scoreboard ticking. Rohit punished the poor shots with relative ease. He went on to hit a switch hit for a big maximum and with a reverse sweep brought up his fifty.

After back to back ducks, Rohit needed a big knock to get out of his lean patch. Despite India’s top order collapse, the brave Rohit was perturbed to try his unorthodox shots. He attempted the reverse hit 3 times prior before connecting it perfectly to hit for a six.

With this fifty, Rohit has 33 T20I tons and is third on the list. He is now just 3 fifties away from dispatching Babar Azam from the second spot. However, it is Virat Kohli who occupies the top spot 37 fifties.
