India’s biggest victory margins in Tests vs Australia – by an innings

India has registered a total of five wins by an innings margin against Australia. The biggest margin of defeat that Australia suffered at the hands of India came in Kolkata in 1998. India won the Test match by an innings and 219 runs. The second-biggest margin of defeat is by an innings and 135 runs, which came in Hyderabad in 2013, under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. Third on the list is the latest one in Nagpur, where Pat Cummins and his boys were handed a loss by an inning and 132 runs. The fourth one came in 1979 in Wankhede, where India won the Test match by an innings and 100 runs. India’s only win by an innings margin against Australia in Australia came way back in 1978, by an innings and 2 runs.
