Virat Kohli was at his scintillating best on his return to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Chasing 172 to win, Kohli put on a fine partnership with skipper Faf du Plessis to make light work of the Mumbai Indians’ score. Both Faf and Kohli went about their business in style, with the Chinnaswamy crowd cheering every single run scored by the latter.
When Kohli got to his 50, the crowd rose to its feet, cheering their greatest champion. Virat rightfully obliged the crowd support, waving his bat to all parts of the ground. He also hit the RCB badge on his jersey, signalling his love and passion for the franchise.

After getting to his half-century, Kohli unlocked another gear to rush RCB’s chase. With NRR being decisive, Kohli scored his last 32 runs in just 11 balls. Overall, Virat struck six fours and five sixes in an absolute carnage of the Mumbai Indians attack.
After the game, Kohli acknowledged the support of the crowd. Speaking before the presentation ceremony, Kohli said, “Phenomenal, it was a packed crowd, every seat was full when we walked in here. Very important we started off well, their support propelled us and that makes a massive difference.”
